Connected Breath is a short group breathing exercise. You breathe with a gentle visual guide while seeing, live, the other people around the world breathing with you at the same moment.
A 2019 doctoral dissertation at Alliant International University studied Connected Breath as the daily mindfulness practice for psychiatric technicians, a high-stress healthcare role. 77 participants were randomized to a mindfulness group or a control group. After a week of daily 60-second sessions, the mindfulness group showed statistically significant reductions on both scales of the Stress Overload Scale (p < .05), while stress in the control group rose.
You choose. A session can be as short as one minute. There are also two scheduled group sessions each day where everyone breathes together for about four minutes.
